When everything has gone wrong in your life, and you have lost that which is most important to you, can you still stand and say, “It is well?” In 2 Kings 4, the Shunammite woman’s son had died, and she was on her way to see Elisha when his servant came to her and asked if there were any problems. She answered, “It is well.” In our culture today, she might have said, “All is well.” Yet, “IT IS WELL” she said, even though it was not well!
She was on her way to Elisha because things were not well with her. She told Elisha’s servant, “It is well,” only because she knew Elisha was the prophet of God who would intercede with God on her behalf. God has given us access to Him so that we don’t need a prophet to go to God for us. We must have faith, even in the worst of circumstances, that He can make things well. We should be like the Shunammite woman, declaring, “It is well,” while knowing that it is not well, simply because she was going to have a talk with the Lord.
Today, when everything is going wrong, just a heartfelt conversation with the Lord can make it right. God does not change; His loving kindness towards us is from generation to generation. What He has done for others, He will do for you if you have faith in Him and have a talk with Him.
