In 2 Kings, we learn that Syria had besieged Israel, and their mighty army was about to invade Israel. Then God, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the armies of heaven, stepped in. Think for a moment: a mighty army prepared for battle heard the sound of chariots rushing into battle, and they fled for their lives. They only heard the sound, and it was so frightening that they did not wait to see the chariots. Israel is still the children of the firstborn of God, beloved by the Father, with a covenant with Him, whom there is none greater or more powerful.
As Israel stands in war today with Hamas, who has attacked them, no one knows how, when, or where God will step in on Israel’s behalf, but one thing is certain: God will be glorified in it. Therefore, we pray for Israel and that Hamas will realize their mistake and stop their attacks, for there is no telling what God will do. Remember, the chief of staff answered Elisha when he said, “The famine and the war will be over that same night, and there will be food in abundance the very next day,” and said if God opens the windows of heaven, it is still impossible. But God, who is the God of the impossible, made it happen; he saw it but could not partake thereof. As you pray for Israel, let this encourage you.
