Here are some Bible facts, food for serious thought for the weekend. The prophets spoke of Jesus’ coming, both His first and second coming, and only the most devoted men and women to God knew Him at His first coming. His birth was announced to shepherds; He was born the chief shepherd of our souls. His shepherding took His life and lifework to the poor, needy, and suffering. His birth was in private, in a place no one would expect a king to be born. His dedication was attended only by His parents and the two most devoted people to God in Israel, invited by God Himself. His life was a righteous nightmare but sinners’ comfort. The public shouted for His death, and the mighty guarded His tomb. He emerged from the tomb before the mighty men of war, who could only use their swords as crutches. Death could not hold Him, and the tomb could not keep Him. The disciples continuously celebrated His resurrection, and the church once a year remembered His life and death, the Passover, the Lamb slain for the forgiveness of sins. This is today’s Crosspoint. Have a blessed day.
