Who is Jesus? A question echoing through generations, resonating today as strongly as ever. He is the friend of sinners, the Ancient of Days, and the Apostle of our Profession. Jesus is the Author of eternal salvation, the only begotten of the Father, and the bishop of our souls. He is the Branch of righteousness, the Bread of life, and the Bright and Morning Star.
In the rich tapestry of descriptors, Jesus emerges as the Captain of the Lord’s host, the Carpenter’s son, and the Chief Cornerstone. He is Chiefest among ten thousand, Christ the Savior, Christ Jesus our Lord, and Christ the power of God. Jesus is the Dayspring, the Deliverer, and the Door. He is Elect, Eternal Life, Faithful and True, and the Firstborn of faith. In His essence, Jesus is the First and Last, the Glory of the Lord our God, and the Great I Am.
Jesus is the Image of the invisible God, the Judge of Israel, and the King of Glory—ruling over all the earth. He is the Lamb of God, the Light of the world, and the Lilly of the Valley. He is the Living Bread, Lord of all, Lord our Righteousness, and the Mighty One of Jacob. Jesus is the Most High and the Most Mighty, the Only Wise God, and our Passover. He is the Prince of Peace, Rabbi, Redeemer, and the Rock.
Jesus is the Root of Jesse, the Rose of Sharon, the Savior of the world, the Seed of the woman, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Son of Mary, and the Son of the Highest. He is the Sun of Righteousness and the Sure Foundation. In His eternal nature, Jesus is Truth, the Unspeakable Gift, the Vine, the Way, the Wonderful, the Word, and the Words of God. Amidst all these titles, Jesus remains the Conqueror.
This is today’s crosspoint—may your week be blessed and filled with wonder.
