As this week comes to a close and a new week dawns, it reminds us that a new year is fast approaching, and many are making plans for the upcoming year. However, we do not know who will open their eyes and have the breath of life in them. Yet, in making plans, many do not consider this fact and the One who holds power and authority in His hands.
There is a question of greater importance that faces us, one that most of us tend to follow cultural norms and postpone. After years of walking with Jesus, He asked His disciples, “Who do others say that I am, and who do they say that He is?” This question still lingers for each of us to answer. When it comes to God, the Creator of the universe and all that is within it, each of us must make a decision about who He is to us, and our lifestyle must reflect it, for God cares about the words that proceed from our lips and the intentions of our hearts.
Many may speak words from their lips, but their hearts are far from it. What will you do about God and His son Jesus Christ? This question is not going away. You may try to ignore it, but each time you lift the rug, you find that it’s still there. Remember, Pharaoh ordered the name of Moses to be stricken from Egypt, but on his deathbed, he declared the name of Moses. Don’t be like Pharaoh!
