If you think your sin condition is so bad or you have done too many bad things for God to forgive you, there are a few things to think about that will help you. Above all things, God hates idol worship, yet Abraham worshipped the idols he made, and God called him, made him the grandfather of faith, and promised his descendants to be a great nation, and the world blessed through him. We all know the nation of Israel and Jesus Christ, the Savior born of a woman, the descendant of Abraham. Jacob was a swindler, yet God blessed him and even changed his name to Israel. That’s how people gained the knowledge to change their name when they changed their lives. It was not a witness program idea. Moses was a murderer turned shepherd. God sent him back to Egypt, where the popular phrase was penned, “Let my people go!” He became the greatest leader and the only one to speak to God face to face. Samuel, as a child, was sent to live with the worst family in Israel. He was chosen to be the prophet to transition Israel from judges to kings’ leadership and to give instructions on how a Godly leader should serve. David was a murderer and an adulterer, and God made him the greatest king to live, and all kings since are compared to him. Elijah killed four hundred men, and God sent a chariot to take him to heaven. Peter, the fisherman, denied Christ and went back to fishing, yet God gave him the task of establishing the church. Don’t forget Noah was a wine bibber. God chose only those who were bad, not one who is good or righteous, for there is none good, none righteous, no not one. If you think you are righteous, there’s nothing God can do for you or with you, for Jesus came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. God wants you; He will change you. He wants to make sinners new.
