The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof. All of us alive today came into this world with nothing and shall depart with nothing. When we were born, a doctor or midwife was there to bring us into this world, but when we leave, it takes six men to carry us to the grave. The additional four people carry the box that covers sin-gained flesh.
With the terrorist attack on Israel and its decision to respond in kind, many who believe themselves knowledgeable on history have much to say about the Palestinians’ right to the land of Israel and their right to a homeland because Israel forced them out. Now, all of us have a right to someplace to live, but don’t forget God owns it all.
The land of Israel was the land of Canaan, the grandson of Noah, who knew then that someday the land would be turned over to the descendants of Japheth, his father’s brother. Keep in mind the land really belongs to God, who decided to give it to the children of Abraham, the descendants of Japheth, namely Israel, and it was for an everlasting possession. God allowed them to be forced out of the land because they turned from God to their own ways and worshiped strange gods.
While all this is happening and anger is flaring up, know that there is still enough love to conquer the hatred. If we all can just know in our hearts that we come with nothing and carry nothing, as a matter of fact, others have to carry the casket that carries us to the tomb. One can only carry himself once in this life for a brief period of time, but he is carried twice. And if he gathers enough sense to realize this world, he is only passing through and makes heaven his eternal home; he’ll be blessed to be carried for a third time.
There is one question that no one truly has the answer to: Why is all the world wanting that small parcel of land? Don’t get it wrong; Israel should treat the Palestinian people with dignity.
