Believers in Christ have a greater responsibility than many realize, and many Bible scholars and teachers do not talk about it. They are too busy trying to make people feel good, but people should feel good only after they have done or are doing what they ought to do or be doing.
There are famines and disasters in many places because of the bloodshed of leaders (innocent blood) which goes unrepented and without justice. The shedding of innocent blood corrupts the land and causes the land to cry out for justice. Now, God in ages past answered the cry of the land and sent famine. Since God does not change and has judged nations before for such actions, it simply means that God has to continue to do so. You may ask why am I thinking this way? Then why are leaders killing innocent people? Because God judged nations before for it. If He does not do so in these times, that would make Him unjust. But we all know, whether we believe it or not, it will not make any difference, for God is the only unchanging, righteous judge in all of heaven and earth. That’s the judgment of the Holy, Righteous, Loving, and Just Everlasting God. You can read one account in 2 Samuel 21.
